Once of my favourite classic films has got to be "The Sound of Music"
Call me typical, but its really an award winning classic film that won millions of .. ears.
I lost count of how many times I have watch since young.
My elder sister love it too.
She was the one who introduced me to the film .
But since than,
It was "Love at first sight"
And I was very happy when she bought the movie VCD!!
I love the part where they sang out in the green pastures.
ahhh...
Julie Andrews played beautifully well, and so were the kids and the Captain.
So, allow me to turn back time and
memerised at the same film that I will never get tired of watching... and listening
=)
Oh and a little additional something, Early this year,
There was a massive dance at the Belgium Train Station, where common people just danced in the middle of the centre square. The song? From the sound of music of cause.. heehee.
enjoy ..
"Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things...Love never fails..."
-- 1 Corinthians 13: 7-8
Have you never found imperfection in your loved ones?
Friends, Family, Husbands, Wives.
Something that others would have protest about, but you galdly embraced it.
something that others would mind, but you didnt.
Have your younger sister drew on your assignments that made you fuming mad?
Moms that nagged at you that made you embarrassed?
Annoying brothers who just simply irritates you?
Boyfriends or Girlfriends who likes to talk nonsense?
Husbands who have thunderous snores?
but,
you still love them.
This video I found on youtube, is about Families.Imperfect Love.People.

Are there times where you really just want your own little space?
Where you could just do quiet-alone-moments like reading, la koping, writing..
I loved those moments.
Its like a moment of solitude and after that,
you feel your spirit refreshed and your mind renewed.
I have a few places where i would escape to find my solitude moments.
some people say their room is the best place to be for quiet times,
but for me,
Sometimes, i just love sitting on a nice couch, or wooden chair, with a hot coffee, reading/writing/drawing as light jazz/acoustic/ballad/classics music plays at the background, and i get to people/interior/ scenery watch.
This, is my little space i love to have.
And one fine weekday afternoon, with the accompay of my buddy kong,
we found one such little cozy place.
One can shop, dine, relax, read, write, play music in all one place.
What is this place called?
hmmm wondering if I should share.. because den it might nt be sooo quiet anymore you know what i mean...
but, haha
anyways, its called:
"CAT SOCRATES"
unique name aye..
its at level 3 bras basah complex at a little corner which is quite difficult to be noticed.
They sell stationaries, clothes, shoes, gifts, basically, anything you want it unique, they'll have it there.
it's a one of a kind shop i tell you.. =)
So over sodas, and hot mochas and nice talks and quiet moments of writing ...
I'm so definitely going to go back there..Ohh speaking of which, so, Coffee Date anyone?
hmmmm... deep thoughts...
And the photos were very well taken by Kong! she's got the photographer's sense i guess .. lol.

I had my wisdom surgery just yesterday.
And just yesterday I experienced loneliness, peace, pain and love.
All emotions mixed up in one day.
I was inside the day surgery centre waiting for my turn to be 'put to sleep' for the surgery.
As I waited, an anxious mother chatted with me, asking if I am also plucking out my wisdom tooth.
She wasn't there for the operation, she was there for her daugther sitting in front of us.
A rather stern looking dad also was there going through every little detail with the nurse regarding his son's operation.
I could only look with a little envious.
Since young, I had to deal with life issues big or small myself. Not that my mom dosen't care, I know she had to work so I didn't want to bother her with such trival matters, even if its not so "trival" ...
So after signing all the consent forms (big enough to give consent), I was getting ready for op. Haha it's rather amusing actually, how day surgery works. Usually for major operation, you are being pushed to the surgery ward on a bed right? Lol, I literally walked myself up to the surgery bed lo.
Feeling a little scared at first, I suddenly felt peaceful when I prayed and felt that God was in control, He was the one doing the operation on me, He was there...
Therefore, after nicely placing myself on bed, many nurses came to put me on tubes, talking to me, and than someone injected something and I instantly felt a sting on my left hand, as if a gush of liquid is rushing into my body and after a few whiffs of the oxgen mask...I..... zzzzzz
I awoke lying in the resting ward. "Wow.. thats fast" I thought, "finished already?" And I stupidly moved my mouth and "Ouch".. "Yup, its done". And I thank God for the successful operation and for His peace. Except, I cant escape the pain..
Feeling like a chipmuck in fact, with two big guaze inside my mouth to stop the bleeding. So, after resting for an hour, I was "discharged". Fonsa was already waiting outside for me and carefully taking care of me til I was on my bed at home.
It was a miserable period for me as my mouth is still bleeding and the wound, hurting. Staring blanking at the ceiling.. I awoke to find...
Man tou~!
Under his tender loving care and nurse-like A Class treatment, I felt so much better and blessed. My mom return home too, but only briefly asked about me, gave me my medicine and handed over me to man tou while she watched Tv outside... haha that's my mummy. =) But my mom and sis did stayed a while by my bed accompanying me while Man Tou ate his dinner. I never felt so overwhelmed with love before. As if God answered my prayers and gave me His tenderlove.
I recovered well. Today, I felt much better...
All thanks to a superhero Man Tou, my dear family and a Loving God.
In fact, the crisis shifted to the earlier generation called : "Young adults"
It's what I defined as "The transition between youth and adulthood, young adulthood is the stage where we learn to become fully mature adults. or simply "Not-a-girl-not-yet-a-woman" for ladies, "Not-a-boy-not-yet-a-man" for gentlemen.
You got the dreaded question at the back of your mind :"What's Next?"
As much as I love to answer that, Im too, stuck at that question.
It's like, after 15 over years of shelter of education since kindergarden, you are now officially being thrown into the ocean..where it's big and wide, drifting you anywhere at any direction. You feel lost, scared, fearful of the unknown.. and perhaps all you do, is to continue drifting, hoping someone would drop down from heaven to save you...
wait a second....
*Ah bish* slaps myself. "Snap out of it Clara. Have you forgotten you are already SAVED? His, whose blood He uses to save your precious life, gives you life and the best part is, let you have the freedom to choose your life..."
Yah, snap out of it. I am holding too tightly to the fear of the unknown that I fail to see the current beautiful painting that God has always, and will always paint out for me.
Main Lesson Number 2: "Let Go"
Let go of wanting to know about the unknown and the future, and trust in Him to lead the way.
I like this passage in the book, What the Heck am I going to do with my life?
"I think the more I feel I don't know, the more I know God knows...its a reassuring feeling. I am not going to say that there is never frustration or anxiety in the unknown, but it is encourageing for me to know that God has a purpose for my life and if I am daily striving to know him and live for him, he will show me in his perfect timing.."
What was I thinking? Instead of focusing on God and His everything, I am focusing on myself and My everything. If I want to work for God and fulfill His purpose, I should follow Him, focus on Him and find Him. Wow... it makes sense. I want to work for God. Not for myself, so why hold on to so much control? Let Go Clara...
...
My number 1 lesson, I felt I really was called to learn and still am, is Patience. Time always seem too short for me to learn everything and do everything. My eagerness sometimes drains me because the more you expect things to happen, the more disappointments you get. In the end, I get a compromise out of life. My driving lessons are cut mid way, I still haven got to learn that Photoshop thing, I haven bake the whole of my holiday break~! and and... you see...
But Patience has taught me to not rush time. There are gains and losses. God teaches us to be grateful for both blessings and adversities. He gives and He takes away. I may not had done many, but I had gain many too. Over the holidays I learn to skate (in other directions other than forward), had many fellowships and friends who bless me with treats, came out with a full aerobics routine, did night cycling, had great picnics... =)
I should be content. Why shouldn't I? There is a time for everything,
Life will be short-changed if you are too eager to change everything in life.
I am not saying by letting go, I am drifting. I rather think myself as a boat on a adventure, not knowing where to go, but there is a captain on board, who nagivates the way, and whom already had a destination in mind, while I do the work. Along the way, there are rain and storms, but there are also beautiful sunsets and sea creatures to see, and I bring people across seas, rescue people from deserted islands, receive aid from bigger ships.... until, i too, reach my eternal destination...
Thank you. Captain.
Live well people.
I apologise if my post today seems a little disorganised. I am really writing from my heart as it feels like saying.

I remember the time (*note: singular), when my mom dressed me up in white dress with pink ribbons and white shoes.
While other girls my age (Pre-school) smile and danced around like princesses,
I was sulking and running about like a boy, messing up my dress.
Until my mom gave up.
Then during teenage years, while young girls crazed about those sweet 16 birthdays, and first crushes, and acne problems (correction, we don't craze for acne, we HATE it and we will do ANYthing to conceal/treat it.),
I was crazed about Studies, Sports and Sun.
I should have noticed by then that I was different.
While my classmates came to class with nice, silky smooth long hair, with those coloured hair pins neatly holding on to their fringe,
Mine was short and messy. (Though I thought it doesn't make sense to tidy up my hair since it will turn messy again after a run.)
Pretty Girls had their blouses tucked in nicely with a little foldover on the waist band.
Geeky Girls had their blouses tucked in with strictly three buttons on the outside. (thats me)
Coming to young adulthood saw some improvement for me, but still, a hopeless feminine.
My classmates had cool hot shorts, honey glow tan and some came always looking refreshed.
I came in with jeans and T Shirts and sneakers. And oh, and my morning face looks far from refreshed.
But I did straighten my hair, started wearing skirts (on rare special occasions) and had a little of my own dressing sense.
Although most of the time, I hide my little body underneath the big baggy red FBT track suit. (Look like santa claus more than a fitness instructor in the making..)
BGR was quite blossoming here and there in the class but lets not probe on the past la huh... haha
And then, I graduated and started working..
And I thought, had to look professional for my work rite?
I learnt my lesson and bought fitting track suits (Nike some more..) and bought some dresses and realised wearing dresses wasn't that bad. In fact, I started to like wearing dresses.
There, another step towards womanhood.
And with some advices from my girlfriends, bought a (singular again) pair of heels and handbag.
And not only fashion advices, I learnt social etiquette too.
like, "Clara ah, don't always scare boys even before you talk to them can? Your that "Kiam Pa" face can save it for self defence." or haha this is funny , a GUY actually said this, " Clara ah, actually you look quite pretty know, but somehow, you give that manly feel, and you walk like a penguin (because I walk with legs apart, quite widely actually)..." and its the same guy who corrected my walking and dress sense. He couldn't stand a girl more manly than him.
And recently, while young women have 4-8 steps daily facial regimes (Even guys ok..) and simple make up to start off the day, Im still at my 1 step wash face only regime. Can't even classify that as regime lor.
Just as I felt utterly despair about my failure as a woman in making,
I read a passage about woman in the bible, and realised, God is not concern about looks, but the attitude of a woman. It the attitude that makes a woman beautiful. (Hey I knew that,I read that before...This goes to show how easily distracted we can get from the Word of God...)
Anyways,
Proverbs 31: 10-31 (NIV)
The Wife of Noble Character
The Wife of Noble Character
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
6 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate
Don't get me wrong, All female are captivating in God's eyes, He created us to be beautiful and feminine in our own way, but it's our heart that matters to Him most.
Im not saying I have achieved those virtues, but, its something Im learning to become =)
Now...
Which toner/moisturiser should I use...
haha.
live well people.
